​The Eastern DRC is currently in a silent genocide, Why? because of Cobalt. Cobalt is an extremely special material it is used by different manufactures to power almost every device that requires electricity. For example the company Tesla needs Cobalt in order to power their cars and other eletronics, thats why them and many other companies ilegally mine Cobalt in the Eastern Part of the DRC while funding the rebel group M23 to murder innocent Congolese people and kick them off of THEIR land. That is the reason why the government isn't doing anything about the genocide, it is because most of the world's cobalt supply is found in Congo and Cobalt is essential to the manufcaturing of electronics which help keep the economy afloat. It was never about human lives, much less African lives. It was about money, it always is. Even though the colonial peroid has ended with over a million people being murdered Congo still continues to be pillaged and robbed of its natural resources by Western Super powers, who commit human rights violations just to make these electronics. You must be wondering what can you do to help? Dont worry you can keep your precious eletronics made off of the backs of innocent Congolese children, all you really have to do is stop purchasing new gadgets being manufactured by any big tech manufacturer. There is no reason why you should be buying a new iphone ever year, besides it will save you tons of money.
